Hunter Douglas acquires ADO Benelux Distribution

Rotterdam, October 31, 2011 – Hunter Douglas, the world market leader in window coverings (Luxaflex®), and a major manufacturer of architectural products, has acquired the distribution rights for ADO^® Benelux, the well known German manufacturer and distributor of curtain and decorative fabrics.  

Hunter Douglas has acquired the ADO^® brand, collections and distribution organization for the Benelux for its Artex subsidiary. ADO^® Benelux has sales of EUR 8.5 million per year. The ADO^® brand, with its high brand awareness, which is especially well known for its sheer curtain collection,  will be a valuable addition to Artex’ portfolio including Artelux^Ò, Kendix^Ò, de Ploeg^Ò and Your Edition^Ò. Terms were not disclosed.

Hunter Douglas has its Head Office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and a Management Office in Lucerne, Switzerland. The Hunter Douglas Group is comprised of 167 companies operating in more than 100 countries. Hunter Douglas had sales in 2010 of USD 2.445 billion and employs about 17,000 people.

The common shares of Hunter Douglas N.V. are traded on Amsterdam’s Euronext and the Deutsche Börse.
