Hunter Douglas acquires Diflex Portugal

Rotterdam, October 31, 2011 – Hunter Douglas, the world market leader in window coverings (LuxaflexÒ), and a major manufacturer of architectural products, has acquired Diflex, a leading manufacturer of made-to-measure window covering products in Portugal.  

Diflex, headquarter based in Albergaria-A-Velha (near Porto), has sales of about EUR 6 million and employs 45 employees. The company’s management will remain unchanged and its employment will not be affected. Terms were not disclosed.  

The acquisition of Diflex will further strengthen Hunter Douglas’ position in the Iberian window covering and sun protection market, enhancing its range of products and services. 

Hunter Douglas has its Head Office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and a Management Office in Lucerne, Switzerland. The Hunter Douglas Group is comprised of 167 companies operating in more than 100 countries. Hunter Douglas had sales in 2010 of USD 2.445 billion and employs about 17,000 people.  

The common shares of Hunter Douglas N.V. are traded on Amsterdam’s Euronext and the Deutsche Börse.
