Rotterdam, 11 October 2007 - Hunter Douglas, the world market leader in window coverings (Luxaflex®), and a major manufacturer of architectural products, has agreed to acquire NBK, a German manufacturer of terracotta facades.  

NBK is a leading manufacturer of large format terracotta facades. The companies’ sales in 2007 will be around USD 22 million. 

The company operates a plant in Emmerich, Germany, and employs 85 people. Management will remain unchanged.  

The acquisition is expected to strengthen the global position of Hunter Douglas’ facade business. 

Hunter Douglas has its Head Office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and a Management Office in Lucerne, Switzerland. The Group is comprised of 168 companies with 66 manufacturing and 102 assembly operations in more than100 countries. Hunter Douglas had sales in 2006 of USD 2.630 billion and has about 21,000 employees. 

The shares of Hunter Douglas NV are traded on Euronext and the Deutsche Börse.
