Hunter Douglas acquires three window covering companies from Arquati

Hunter Douglas acquires three window covering companies from Arquati Rotterdam, May 22, 2003 – Hunter Douglas, the world market leader in window coverings, has acquired three window covering assemblers from Arquati, a leading Italian fabricator of window coverings, awnings and picture frames, whose shares are listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.

The companies which were acquired are Haglund, based in Sweden, Iberica, based in Spain and Silga, based in Switzerland. They assemble and distribute window coverings in their respective markets, with combined sales in 2002 of EUR 17 million and 120 employees.

These acquisitions will strengthen Hunter Douglas' position in these countries through the introduction by these companies of the full range of Luxaflex® window covering products.

Hunter Douglas has its Head office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and a Management office in Luzern, Switzerland. The Group is comprised of 150 companies with 66 manufacturing and 84 assembly operations in more than 100 countries. Hunter Douglas had sales in 2002 of EUR 1,692 million and has about 14,700 employees.

The shares of Hunter Douglas N.V. are traded on the Dutch, Swiss and German Stock Exchanges.
