Hunter Douglas USD 250 mln Notes IssueRotterdam, 19 December 2002 – Hunter Douglas has issued USD 250 million in Notes to institutional investors through a substantially oversubscribed Private Placement in the United States. Banc of America Securities was the advisor and placing agent.

The Notes were issued in four tranches with five, six, seven and eight year maturities and will bear interest rates of 4.22%, 4.47%, 4.72% and 4.97% respectively.

This is Hunter Douglas’ first Private Placement in the US market. The senior unsecured Notes were issued without financial covenants. The Company will use the funds to refinance existing debt and for working capital.

Hunter Douglas’ first 9 months 2002 sales were EUR 1,273 million and its net profit was EUR 87.5 million.

The shares of Hunter Douglas N.V. are traded on the Dutch, Swiss and German Stock Exchanges.
